Carers have the right to ...

Carers Rights Day 2021 takes place this year on 25 November and every year the campaign fights to raise awareness of carers rights.

Statistics published by Carers Scotland show that this is even more important as ever as covid-19 continues to have a huge impact on the lives of unpaid carers and their families.

In a recent survey of nearly 6,000 carers, we found:

  • Four in five unpaid carers are providing more care for relatives
  • 78% reported that the needs of the person they care for have increased during the pandemic
  • Two thirds (67%) worried about how they will cope through further lockdowns or local restrictions.
