Shaper/Caper
Shaper/Caper is an independent dance company and registered charity based in Dundee, Scotland.
We tour the work of Dundee-born, multi-award-winning choreographer and first ever BBC Radio 2 Artist in Residence, Thomas Small, internationally as well as facilitate an extensive range of creative learning projects throughout Dundee and surrounding areas. We believe in Shaping Reality Through Creative Adventures. This Vision, along with our Mission to provide ‘Dance for All’ pervades all areas of operation. As do our core Values of kindness, tolerance, cooperation and humour.
Since our inception, we have been committed to working at the grassroots community level, providing opportunities to explore movement and creativity to anyone regardless of age, ability or socioeconomic status.
In 2019 and 2020 we were named finalists for Inspirational Work in Education by One Dance UK and we won the 2020 Scottish Enterprise Award for Best Leading Charity Dance Programme – Tayside.
