Scottish Ambulance Service Mental Health Experience Survey

The Scottish Ambulance Service wants to learn about the lived experience of people who have been in contact with the Scottish Ambulance Service during a mental health crisis in the last two years. They have asked VOX Scotland to undertake this work, engaging with members and the wider public to gather people’s experiences and views to help evaluate their services.

They are looking for people who can share one or more of the following:

  • Experiences with trained paramedics in a Mental Health Triage Car (in Glasgow, Inverness and Dundee)
  • Experiences with Scottish Ambulance Service paramedics during a mental health crisis (in any areas but particularly Lothian, Lanarkshire and Highland)
  • Experiences of support via telephone during 999 ambulance calls, experience of support via call back from clinical advisors and experience of support when call is transferred to NHS 24 Mental Health Hub (across all of Scotland)

We want people to be able to share their experiences in a way that feels comfortable and safe for them and your contribution would be anonymous.  They can offer one-to-one or group conversations via phone, online or in person during January and February.

Please email Paula at [email protected] if you want to volunteer.

We have also put together a short questionnaire regarding experiences phoning 999 for the ambulance service during a mental health crisis which anyone is welcome to fill out.
