Do you live with a Medical Implanted Device?
Between July and August 2023, Healthcare Improvement Scotland – Community Engagement would like to talk with people who are living with a Medical Implanted Device so we can capture their experience and views. This will be used by the Scottish Government and partners to inform the development of policy and improve patient safety.
Examples of a medically implanted device:
- Heart valves
- Pacemakers
- Implantable defibrillators
- Intravascular stents
- Aortic aneurysm stent grafts
- Vascular and non-vascular stents
- Joint replacements
- Lenses (cataract surgery)
- Cochlear implants
- Implantable stimulators
- Breast implants
- Gastric balloons
Health Improvement Scotland want to speak with people who have received a medical implanted device from the NHS in Scotland within the last 5 years.
They are particularly looking to speak to people who fulfil the following characteristics and backgrounds: mix of genders, mix of ages, variety of ethnicities – including ethnic minorities, range of religious identities, from LGBT+ community.
