Help improve breast screening for women with learning disabilities

The Breast Imaging Research Group at the University of Dundee wants to make breast screening (mammograms) easier for everyone.

They are looking for:

  • Women aged 45–70 who have a learning disability
  • Carers or supporters of women with a learning disability

Why?

Many women with learning disabilities do not get breast checks.
This can happen because:

  • The breast screening process is confusing
  • Stressful
  • Difficult to take part in

If women miss breast screening, health problems may not be found early.

What is happening?

The research team is holding a Focus Group.
A Focus Group is a small meeting where people talk about their experiences.

They want to listen to

  • Your experience of breast screening
  • What was difficult
  • What would make it easier
  • Why your voice matters

Your ideas will help

  • Improve breast screening services
  • Make healthcare fairer and more accessible
  • Inform future research and advise policymakers
