Here is some information from NHS Inform Website
About 1 in 6 people have hearing loss. 7 in 10 people affected by hearing loss are over 70 which is expected to increase by 50% in the next 20 years. Deaf and people with hearing loss may feel misunderstood, unheard, invisible, isolated
Deaf Awareness Week 2024 aims to encourage a collaborative environment – this means individuals, organisations and governments work together to create an inclusive society
Right to communication- Communication access is a fundamental human right for everyone. This is regardless of their hearing ability.
In Scotland, The Charter of Patient Rights and Responsibilities includes the right to be informed about, and involved in, healthcare and health services.
This information is available in a British Sign Language video with subtitles and English voiceover.
