COVID and flu vaccination programme

Staff flu vaccinations – Ninewells Hospital, Perth Royal Infirmary and community vaccination centres

There are still appointments available for flu vaccinations at Ninewells, Perth Royal Infirmary and the community vaccination centres until 17 September.

Staff can book their appointment for FLU vaccination now at NHS Inform.  If you are a non-frontline healthcare worker, please scroll down to the end of the list and choose the options that start with ‘Staff clinic’ at Ninewells and PRI.

Frontline staff are advised to book an appointment on or after 18 September to receive both flu and COVID vaccinations together, by choosing a ‘Co-booking’ clinic on NHS Inform. These appointments can also be booked for staff who are non-frontline healthcare workers, but who are in an age or risk group eligible for COVID vaccination.

If you are not eligible for COVID vaccination in the groups below, please do not choose the ‘Co-booking’ options for Ninewells and PRI. If you have already booked into a ‘Co-booking’ clinic, but are not eligible for COVID vaccination, please consider rearranging your appointment to an earlier date in the ‘Staff clinic’ option. This will free up the later appointments for those who require both vaccines.

Those eligible for flu vaccinations are:

  • All NHS Tayside staff
  • social care workers who deliver personal care
  • NHS independent contractors including GP, dental and optometry practices, community pharmacists and laboratory staff working on COVID-19 testing
  • nursery, primary and secondary school teachers and pupil-facing support staff
  • prison officers and support staff who deliver direct front-facing detention services

Those eligible for COVID vaccinations are:

  • frontline, patient-facing NHS Tayside staff
  • social care workers who deliver personal care
  • NHS independent contractors including GP, dental and optometry practices, community pharmacists and laboratory staff working on COVID-19 testing
  • Those over 65 years old (may have also received an appointment letter from NHS Scotland)
  • Those with weakened immune systems (may have also received an appointment letter from NHS Scotland)

It is really important for staff to get their winter vaccinations to help protect themselves and our patients and ensure we can keep services running during this challenging period.  If you are eligible for flu vaccination, please attend one of the clinics as early as you can and please try to honour any appointments booked.
