Suicide Prevention Scotland has launched a new website, SuicidePrevention.scot, which went live on April 16th. The website was created with input from individuals with lived experience, and aims to be a trusted and accessible resource.
It provides centralised information and key links for:
- Individuals experiencing thoughts of suicide
- Those concerned about someone else
- People bereaved by suicide
In the coming weeks, an additional section for professionals will be introduced. This will support those working in health, care, and community settings to respond more confidently and effectively to suicide risk.
Everyone is encouraged to visit SuicidePrevention.scot and share this valuable resource with anyone who might benefit from it.
The website launch coincides with a new national campaign asking, “What if a conversation about suicide could save a life?” This campaign aims to start Scotland’s biggest ever conversation about suicide. Over the coming weeks, the campaign will be visible online and on out-of-home platforms such as buses, bus stops, train stations, and roadside billboards.
