16 Days of Activism to End Gender-Based Violence

16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is an annual international campaign. The campaign begins on the 25th of November, International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, and runs until the 10th of December, Human Rights Day.

The campaign was started by activists at the inauguration of the Women’s Global Leadership Institute in 1991 and continues to be coordinated annually by the centre.

16 Days is used by individuals and organisations globally to highlight and call for the prevention and elimination of all forms of Violence Against Women and Girls. Every year the Dundee Violence Against Women Partnership work closely together to deliver awareness-raising events as part of the campaign.
