A Fairer Future for Young Carers
We currently celebrate Young Carers Action Day 2026 that took place on Wednesday 11 March 2026
This year’s theme is “Fair Futures for Young Carers,” which was the theme for 2024. This decision was made as maintaining a comprehensive and consistent theme is more effective.
What we did this year
- Wednesday 11 March and Friday 13 March 2026
- 10.00 am – 12.30 pm
- Scrapantics, Level 3, Wellgate Centre and Dundee Central Library
Each event included a range of enjoyable activities and workshops tailored for young carers of all age groups, focusing on this year’s theme: ‘Fair Futures for Young Carers’
This year’s Young Carers Action Day provided young carers from primary and secondary schools in Dundee with the chance to take part in a variety of workshops provided by:
- The Corner
- NHS Tayside School of Nursing
- Scrapantics – Take Away Arts and Crafts
- D&A College Science Department
- Dundee Libraries
- Jordan Petrie – Younger Skin Beauty Masterclass
(Wednesday Only)
There was also breakout areas for arts and crafts and biscuit-making for those looking for a more relaxed environment.
Our goal was to ensure young carers receive the support they need to balance their schoolwork, personal life, and caring responsibilities while also taking care of their mental health.
