Carers Support

Dundee Carers Centre is offering support to unpaid carers and disabled people up until 23rd December at 4.15pm and will be closed through Christmas and New Year.

The centre will reopen Thursday 6th January 2022 at 9.30am.

General Support Throughout Christmas

There are a number of national carer services offering support and events throughout Christmas.

Carers UK

Carers UK Helpline service will continue to operate Monday to Friday over the festive period. 

You can call 0808 808 7777 from Monday to Friday, 9am-6pm, including Christmas Eve, Bank Holiday Monday, and New Year’s Eve.

Their email advice service ([email protected]will be available with a reduced service from 22-24 December, and will be closed 25 December to 3 January.

Mobilise

Mobilise continue to provide support to carers, over the Christmas period.

They offer support calls, Facebook community and online tools that remain open.

Many Carers’ Centres need to close or reduce their hours over Christmas and if this is you, please feel you can signpost your carers to our support services during this time.

Lochee Community Larder are opening their doors on Christmas Day to hand out soup and sandwiches between 12-2pm.

Eagles Wings Trust will be operating a bag handout with hot soup and tea on Douglas Street, 1-3pm,from Monday 20 Dec, then Tuesday and Wednesday.

On the Thursdays 23rd and 30th they will have a Drop in at the Steeple Church as normal.
